How truly satisfied are you, with your living location and environment? Last year, I took some time to evaluate my living environment. I realised I'd been unconsciously "tolerating" urban elements - air quality, traffic noise, busy-ness, lack of green space ... funky Hoxton Square, whilst absolutely great for beers in the park, simply didn't seem as interesting or fulfilling to me, now I was choosing 'naturally high vitality' as a core value! Urban life in London was no longer the environment to help me stretch my potential. A winning solution came from connecting 2 of my core values - "naturally high vitality" with "true financial freedom" with a dose of inspiration from two of my favourite wealth-creation experts Nicola Cairncross (check out The Money Gym online) and Andy Shaw (read 5 chapters of his book online "Money for Nothing and your Property for Free") ...
... I'd always dreamed of living near the sea, wanted to invest in property as one of my pathways to true financial freedom and still passionately grow The Happiness Centre in London and across the UK (the online businesses I could work on from anywhere).
My location criteria were
- by the sea
- daily silence
- living close to nature
- aesthetically beautiful and inspiring ... i love old towns with character
- under 2 hours to London by train
- up and coming area for property investment
Having done some reasearch, listened to the wisdom of property investors and an unexpected day-trip to Hastings, I wrote on my Happiness Manifestations card that I carry in my pocket ...
"Happy in my home by the sea in Hastings"
Next steps: I set my target on a date, wrote down my selection criteria, did the sums, researched on the web about property in Hastings, got on the phone to real estate agents, did 2 day-trips of intensive house-viewings, bargained my ideal find to under-market-value and that was done in less than 8 weeks!
And almost to the day written in my pocket, I found a property I would be satisfied in as both a living & working environment and investment. Technically, it was in St-Leonards-By-Sea (next to Hastings) so in hindsight I am not surprised that I was gazumped just before Christmas 2006 .. it wasn't actually HASTINGS!
Where I am today: As I write this blog, the warm morning sun is streaming in my front window above the West Hill green ... the sea is sparkling blue and I truly am happy in my home by the sea in Hastings.
Go on, what new choices would you wish for yourself?

Hi Alexis
Just saw a link to your blog from the MoneyGym Newsletter.
Know what you mean about living by the sea, I bought my first flat in Hove in April, inspired by Judith Morgan whom I work with in the ABC Coaching Gym!
(Hope you don't mind me giving a small piece of feedback...you are not easy to reach via your blog (no. obvious contact nos. email) and the link to the Happiness Centre is very small at the bottom! Be visible you are doing great stuff!)
